The language you are referring to is not restricted to men. If you learned to read it you'd be incredibly impressed.
Just nod wisely and say "I like what you've done to the exhaust duration."
My fiancee talks about cars and stuff and I just kind of tune him out. It's just blahblahblah blow off valve blahblahblah cold air intake, blahblahblah... It seriously would be like learning a new language. >.<
